Third Kit Launch

Oxford United has unveiled its 2026/27 third kit as part of the club’s Inspires Series. The launch event was held at Cowley Road’s Kazbar, a local hotspot that has become synonymous with community and hospitality in Oxford. The new kit, now available for purchase online and in‑store, features a design that reflects the city’s unique blend of tradition and modernity.

Culture Inspires Campaign

The kit launch is the centerpiece of the club’s three‑part Inspires Series, with the “Culture Inspires” segment filmed at Kazbar. The shoot brought together Oxford United players and members of the local community to celebrate the different backgrounds, traditions and experiences that come together across the city. By placing the character, energy and diversity of Cowley Road at the heart of the campaign, the club highlights the role that local venues play in shaping Oxford’s identity.

Kazbar’s Legacy

Kazbar began as Fernando’s café, serving simple, honest food such as chicken carbonara and picanha with rice and beans. Over two decades, the business expanded into a wider hospitality group that now includes Café CoCo, Al Andalus, catering, events, international schools and university canteens. Co‑owner Filipe and Fernando have both been part of Oxford for more than 20 years, with the business becoming woven into the fabric of the city.

The venue’s success lies in its focus on people and hospitality. “We want our venues to feel full of life, relaxed, welcoming and a little bit eclectic,” Filipe says. “Oxford is made up of all sorts of people – students, families, professors, locals and visitors – and we have always tried to create spaces where all of them feel comfortable.”

Kazbar’s location on Cowley Road places it just off the main Oxford United matchday route, so it does not attract huge crowds on game days. Nevertheless, the venue does see regular locals before and after matches, and it hosts a yearly tradition of a Swedish group who come to watch Oxford United and stay in the city for a few days. They enjoy brunch every morning, starting the day with pints of lager and Bloody Marys at 9:00 am.

The business’s long‑term success is attributed to its personal touch. “Knowing your regulars, having a proper chat and making people feel seen,” Filipe says, “is what keeps us going.” The venue also hires and trains local people, providing employment and fostering community support.

Community and Culture

The Culture Inspires campaign underscores how the club and local businesses like Kazbar collaborate to celebrate Oxford’s diversity. By showcasing the venue’s vibrant community, the campaign highlights the city’s unique blend of historic charm and contemporary energy. Oxford United’s 2026/27 third kit launch, therefore, is not just a new piece of kit but a celebration of the people and places that make Oxford special.
