Oxford United will travel to Spain this summer as they prepare for the 2026/27 campaign. The club's players are set to report back for pre-season on Friday, June 26, starting with two weeks at the Club's Training Centre to build fitness ahead of the EFL Sky Bet League One season. Following this, the squad will head to Cadiz in southern Spain for a warm-weather training camp, where they will engage in an intensive week of training, enhancing their skills both on and off the pitch. The U's will kick off their pre-season fixtures away against Aldershot Town on Tuesday, July 21, with additional matches to be announced soon. Competitive action will commence on the weekend of August 8/9 with the EFL Cup, followed by the start of the EFL League One season the following week. Head of Football Operations, Ed Waldron, expressed excitement about the pre-season plans, emphasizing the importance of creating the right environment for players and staff. The initial two weeks in Oxford will help establish a solid fitness foundation, while the trip to Spain will foster team bonding and enhance relationships among players. Waldron acknowledged the efforts of Matt Willmott and Nick Meace in organizing the camp, ensuring that the facilities meet the team's needs. The club is also finalizing the pre-season fixture schedule, aiming to provide the squad with the right challenges as they gear up for the upcoming season.
