Jamie Donley is set to join Luton Town on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur. The 21-year-old midfielder spent the second half of last campaign with Oxford United, who opted not to make his move permanent.

Donley is understood to be undergoing a medical this week ahead of the switch to the League One club managed by Jack Wilshere. The Northern Ireland international was the first of eight January signings for Oxford as they fought against relegation from the Championship.

He made 15 appearances for Matt Bloomfield's side after recovering from an injury sustained on his debut in the FA Cup. Donley scored one goal during his time at the Kassam Stadium, a decisive strike in a 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers in March, and also provided one assist.

Oxford had an option to buy the player included in his initial loan agreement but did not activate it. This will be Donley's fourth loan move, following spells at Leyton Orient and Stoke City prior to his time in OX4.

His departure means Oxford United's squad for the new season continues to take shape, with supporters able to track the latest arrivals and departures on the club's squad page. The U's will be looking to build on their first win under new management as they prepare for their next match, with the full schedule available on the fixtures list.
