Oxford United is actively pursuing transfer target Kyreece Lisbie as they prepare for the upcoming League One season. The 22-year-old winger, currently with Colchester United, has attracted interest from several clubs, including Huddersfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday. The U's reportedly met with Lisbie as they look to secure his services ahead of the 2026/27 campaign. With Reading FC having withdrawn their interest, Oxford now faces competition from both Wednesday and Huddersfield, as well as Peterborough United, for Lisbie's signature.

Lisbie had a productive season last year, scoring 11 goals and providing eight assists in 45 League Two appearances. He has one year remaining on his contract at the JobServe Community Stadium, and Colchester is said to be asking for a fee between £500,000 and £750,000. Oxford United's interest in Lisbie dates back to January when they were blocked from signing him by Colchester's chairman.

After their relegation from the Championship, Oxford United is looking to rebuild their squad, having released 15 players last month. The club finished 22nd in the Championship, just above Sheffield Wednesday, and is in urgent need of reinforcements to improve their attacking options. With the departure of key forwards like Will Lankshear and Myles Peart-Harris, the signing of Lisbie could provide much-needed depth and competition on the right wing.

Lisbie predominantly played on the right wing for Colchester last season, and his addition would complement Oxford's current roster, which includes only Stan Mills as a pure right midfielder. As the transfer window has officially opened, Oxford United is keen to make their first signing of the summer, and securing Lisbie could be a significant step in their efforts to bounce back in League One.
