Oxford United goalkeeper Matt Ingram has joined West Bromwich Albion on a permanent deal. The 32-year-old departs the club having made seven appearances since joining in 2024 from Hull City.
What happened?
Ingram's departure is the first player transfer since new head coach Aaron Ramsey was appointed as Matt Bloomfield's successor on Tuesday evening.
Why it matters for Oxford United
The U's are yet to make their first incoming transfer since the summer window opened last week. As of now, the team stands 22nd in Championship, with 47 points from 46 games, and a recent form of LWLLW.
What comes next?
Ingram will compete with Max O'Leary for a starting berth at the Hawthorns or otherwise act as backup. The High Wycombe-born man played 141 times for his boyhood club Wycombe Wanderers where he began his career before moving permanently to Queens Park Rangers in 2016.
